US Open Travelogue

US OpenCris and Melissa Robinson write: WOW! What an incredible experience. First of all, thank you to Ward Hamilton General Manager at Robious Sports & Fitness, for giving Melissa and me this great trip that he won through the RTA raffle. Thank you to Joe and Shima Grover for donating the President's Box tickets. Friday we watched some great tennis including Safin, Monfils, Federer and watched Genepri lose a tough match to Celic, and we also met up with some friends from Richmond. Tennis Professional Wanted

Robious Sport and Racquet Club is looking for a full-time professional whose job description will include everything from racquet stringing to teaching all ages of students -- children to adults. Private lessons, group lessons, team clinics and kids clinics. Also will help run club tennis events. Commission-based pay; the harder you work, the more you make. Insurance after 3 months. QuickStart tennis is an exciting, new play format ... designed to bring kids into the game by using specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. There are levels of play for 6 & under, 8 & under and 10 & under.

Junior Indoor Winter League at Courtside West

We are looking for junior players who want to keep their games sharp with matchplay during the cold months before the spring season. Player levels range from intermediate to advanced and everyone is grouped according to ability and age. Play is on either Friday or Saturday evenings and each session consists of a singles and doubles match. Sign up for either Session 1: November 14-January 31 ($195), or Session 2: February 6-March 28 ($175), or both ($350). Space is limited so call Courtside West (740-4263) today to reserve your spot! Richmond Junior Circuit Master's Tournament Wrapup

The Richmond Junior Tennis Circuit 2008 series recently held its Masters Tournament at The Country Club of Virginia on September 6-7. The Masters Tournament is where the top eight juniors in points in their respective age groups qualify to compete in a single elimination one day tournament. Read the full wrapup here.

The Association of Richmond Tennis Professionals along with the Richmond Tennis Association is proud to present the Richmond Junior Circuit, now finishing our 8th year. These one-day weekend summer tournaments are designed to make competitive play more accessible for our juniors, and are primarily for non-ranked players playing bantam or intermediate tennis or looking to start playing Futures tournaments. Look for information to come on next year's program or call the circuit director, Joe Cappellino, at 804-360-0398.
