Sean and Brent Wilkins turned up in the sponsor's tent after Sean had to withdraw from competition.   Brent and his partner Vera Petrashevitch had a fierce battle in the Mixed Doubles semifinal with #1 seeded Motevassel & Rampre in which Wilkins & Petrashevitch won the first set in a tiebreak.  Final score:  7-6, 6-0, 7-5. Wilkins also made it to the Quarterfinals in singles, losing to McNamara.

Lee Byerly has recently joined the professional staff at Salisbury.  He formerly taught at Briarwood, and was the Boys Tennis Coach at Atlee this Spring.

Rain delays early in the week caused relatively few problems 

 

Godwin's Kevin McMillen played in the tournament to get some practice in for the upcoming Super Nationals in Florida 


 

Thiago Barbosa, from Winchester, VA is the Asst Men's Coach at Shenandoah University.  He ranked #1 in Doubles in the NAIA a couple of years ago but couldn't find a partner for this week's event.  He made it thru three rounds in singles before losing to the #1 seed 6-2, 6-3 


 

Midlothian's Jon Ranthum (left) played on the men's tour "quite a few years ago".  Ricardo Ribera is a pro at Raintree. 


 

Mason Davis, who played for Collegiate last year, returned from Longwood University to play with partner Brianna Jain
