2010 Richmond Junior Tennis Circuit: The Richmond Junior Tennis Circuit (RJTC) is designed to make competitive play more accessible for our juniors. These tournaments are for non-ranked juniors playing bantam or intermediate tennis or looking to start playing Futures tournaments. These one-day tournaments will be held on Saturdays. - Quickstart Summer Series: tennis all around Richmond for boys and girls 6, 8, 10 and under.
- Raintree Summer Camp: Junior Summer Camps offered by Raintree
- The Association of Tennis Professionals presents the Richmond Junior Tennis Circuit, a USPTA Junior Circuit sponsored by USPTA and the Richmond Tennis Association.
- MATEF Summer Camp Scholarship: Mid-Atlantic Tennis & Education Foundation, the Mid-Atlantic Section's charity, supports tennis and education programs for financially disadvantaged youth, including those living in Virginia, with household incomes under $60,000. www.matef.org
- Tennis4Life Summer Camps and Clinics: Tennis4Life Academy (T4L) is a local Richmond non-profit dedicated to developing and promoting junior tennis in the Mid-Atlantic region. We are parents, friends and tennis lovers inspired to help junior players at all skill and socioeconomic levels grow as athletes and people on and off the court regardless of age, gender or ability to pay.
- Tennis Academy of Virginia Summer Camp: Summer camps for all levels of junior players. Clinics at Byrd middle school, private lessons at James River and Deep Run High School.
- Adidas Tennis Camps: Adidas offers tennis camps for youth aged 9-18. According to Adidas, the camps were developed to provide athletes with an opportunity to become better tennis players in a fun, positive atmosphere, learning from the best coaches in the sport and leaving with confidence and a passion to enjoy the "sport of a lifetime." www.TennisCamper.com.
- USTA Richmond Junior Team Tennis: Jr. Team Tennis, the largest junior tennis league in the United States, is a program which offers children the opportunity to develop their individual and team tennis skills in a fun yet competitive atmosphere. These are mixed leagues with the opportunity to advance to district, sectional and national playoffs. Age divisions are: 12 & under, 14 & under, and 18 & under, with the possibility of intermediate and advanced levels in each age division.

New Junior Tennis Academy in Richmond

Seven winners announced for RJTC tournament at Hermitage
6/17/09 - The second weekend of the Richmond Junior Tennis Circuit was held at Hermitage Country Club, and there was even a boys 8 division for this event. David Cousins beat Jack Emerson 6-1 in the youngest division final. Matches are only one set. Read more

USTA Junior Tennis Team -- Richmond Nomads won the Section Championships and will be representing the Mid-Atlantic at the National Championship in Mobile, Alabama in October. This is the second year in a row that the Richmond Nomads have won. Read the flyer. (PDF)
Tournaments for juniors
The McDonald's Summer Series of Junior Tournaments
This series provides opportunities for area juniors to gain tournament experience and improve their state and regional rankings. These tournaments require a USTA membership. Under normal conditions, players play matches following USTA rules with two sets.
RTA Sponsored Summer Junior Tournaments
This series provides opportunities for area juniors to gain tournament experience and improve their game. These one-day events are held at various clubs in the Richmond Area. Matches are eight game pro sets, with no add scoring. Players with the highest accumulated point totals at the end of the summer series are invited to participate in the RTA Master's Invitational Tournament held in September.

Junior winter activities
Since 1966, the RTA has offered indoor tennis programs for juniors. The RTA has coordinated with several local clubs for instruction again this year. Raintree Swim & Racquet Club, Midlothian Tennis Center and The Westwood Club each offers a 9-week program focusing on player development through effective drilling to improve all strokes and overall tennis fitness. The program runs November - January.
Reservations are on a first-come basis.
