TENNIS SOCIAL

To
celebrate the beginning of Spring tennis season, 24 teens attended a Teen Tennis
Social at Willow
Oaks Country Club. All tennis playing teens from the community were
invited, and players hailed from all over Richmond. St. Bridget's, Short
Pump Middle, Freeman HS, Midlothian HS, Trinity, Clover Hill HS, Thomas Dale HS
and Collegiate were represented.

Players
played mixed doubles and challenged each other in doubles and singles "king
of the court." By 10:00 pm, after 3 hours of tennis, this friendly
but competitive crowd was still trying to determine the king of the singles court -
and it could have gone on until morning if they weren't forced to go home.
"It's
amazing how talented some of these middle school kids are," said a high
school player. "I'm glad I don't have to play them this year!"
