BON AIR MIXED MEMBER TOURNAMENT HONORS U.S. PRESIDENTS

July 2-7, 2007

Who needs a fancy country club to pull off a fun week of tennis partying?

In fact, with members manning the grill, players providing their favorite side dishes, and event organizer extraordinaire Bob Steele combing the city (OK it was just the Dollar Store) for perfect player prizes -- Bon Air Community Center capped off its 4th of July Week Mixed Member Tournament under a gorgeous summer evening sky.

The 'mystery-date tournament', where players' partners names were pulled from a hat, made for some interesting match-ups!

With his trademark slogan:  "It doesn't get any better than this!"  Bob Steele handed out trophies to not only winners, but EVERY participant in the tournament.  Of course, every "prize" had an explanation.  The post match prize parade lasted until - well, it seemed like until-- the wee hours of the morning.

With many new members, Bon Air looks forward to its next tourney -- over Labor Day.  "This time you get to pick your member partner," said Bob.  "You won't be stuck with a dud like [you got] this week."

Bob scans his prize list.....

....and makes another presentation.  It is still daylight........
.....as the night grows longer.....Bob is unaware everyone has left.
