Local Pros Share Their Blessings with Sponsored Kids
A Boy and a Girl, both from the USA

2/15/07 --A group of local tennis professionals known as The Area Richmond Tennis Professionals (ARTP) recently sponsored two children through the Christian Children's Fund.

"We sponsored them for a year and hope to keep them as long as possible, or as long as they need us," said Stacey Parker, whose husband Eddie is the Director of Tennis at Raintree.

The ARTP is responsible for running the highly successful Junior Summer Circuit program, a series of one day tournaments for beginning and novice level juniors ages 8-14.

The group is comprised of Eddie Parker, Mark Bernstine (Hermitage CC), Joe Cappellino (Dominion Club), Scott Steinour (Salisbury) and Julie Kaczmarek (CCV).

Sedrick is 6 years old.  He lives in central Mississippi. His teenage mother is unemployed.  He is enrolled at a project near his home, where he gets along well with others.

Yesenia is 8 years old.  She lives in the lower Rio Grande Valley of Southern Texas where her father is field worker.  She enjoys singing, dancing and listening to music and hopes to become a doctor one day.

Anyone interested in sending a donation or gift to either child can get in touch with Stacey Parker at 740-1035.
